About the Author
John Flanagan is a great author. He was born May, 22 1944. He is married to a woman named Leonie and he has 1 son and two daughters. He has written 2 book series, The Brotherband chronicles and The Rangers apprentice. Some interesting facts about him are he created a sitcom called Hey Dad! and he only created rangers apprentice so his son wouldn't feel bad about being short and to get him into reading (that is why Will is short). He has earned a couple of rewards. One of them is kids book awards in Australia and he been on the New York Times Bestsellers list many times.
Genre
My book’s genre is action and adventure it also has a little fantasy. Some things that define this are traveling fighting mystical beings and strange and weird characters When Will has to fight monsters and travel across large places on horseback this supports the genre. There are many quotes that hint towards it but here is one.
“Halt,” he said, a little breathlessly “Where do you hope to find the Kalkara?”
Halt looked at the serious young face beside him. They were traveling forced march pace - forty minutes in the saddle riding at a steady canter, then twenty minutes on foot, leading the horses and allowing them to travel unburdened, while the men ran at a steady trot.
The reason this quote supports this is that Will mentions monsters that they need find and attack whilst they are traveling to a far away place on horseback. This book also has places and things that aren’t real and are imagined. This books setting takes place a long time ago. Nothing directly states that but they hint towards it with knights, castles and kings

Point of View
My story’s point of view is 3rd person, more specifically Limited 3rd person. This means the narrator only has access to one character’s thoughts & feelings. The book supports this when is says Will thought, not I thought.
